17 & 18 of April at the TU-Dresden, Germany

The 13th Dresden Color Forum will focus on one of the core topics of the collection – dealing with color in educational contexts and teaching color in theory and practice

Already in elementary school, the course for the use of color is laid in art lessons, which shape its understanding in vocational training, in studies and in craftsmanship, but without being critically questioned. The inadequacies of this have long been essentially described in the ‘science’ based on a ‘Theory’ based on Johannes Itten.

The Dresden Color Forum will address these dilemmas in lectures and discussions and discuss proposals for alternative forms of communication.

The exhibition HISTORY OF COLORS IN ART CLASS shows for the first time an almost complete and representative overview of when color materials for general education schools were distributed industrially and which color materials were used at what times.
